Ottawa police have charged a teenager with first-degree murder in Ottawa's first homicide of 2012.
Ahmed Hafizi, 18, is charged in the downtown Ottawa death of 24-year-old Navid Niran on Jan. 22.
Police said the victim was known to them.
Paramedics said they had been called to a report of a stabbing outside a Dalhousie Street nightclub around 2:30 a.m.
Niran was taken to hospital, where he later died.
Hafizi will appear in court Friday.
