Rideau Canal Skateway closed for the season

After 58 skating days, the Rideau Canal Skateway is officially closed for the season, the National Capital Commission (NCC) announced Tuesday evening.

The 44^th skating season began on Dec. 31, 2013. It was the first time the skateway had opened before New Year’s Day since 2004.

According to the NCC, there were more than 1.2 million visits to the canal this season.
