Ryan Granberg rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown Saturday as the Queen's Gaels routed the No. 1 Western Mustangs 37-0 in Canadian university football.

Craig Rushon added another touchdown on the ground for Queen's and Joshua Sultana returned a fumble 11 yards for another score as the Gaels' defence dominated the nation's top-ranked team.

Billy McPhee was 10-of-20 passing for 192 yards for Queen's (6-2), while Dan Village was 4-for-7 on field goals.

Ian Noble threw for 163 yards and two interceptions for Western (7-1), which rested many of its starters on offence, including quarterback Donnie Marshall and star running back Tyler Varga.

At Kingston, Ont., the Gaels opened the scoring early in the first quarter as Granberg scored on an 88-yard run for a 7-0 lead.

Village kicked four field goals and added a safety to make it 21-0. Sultana's fumble return midway through the third quarter put Queen's up by four touchdowns.

Village added two singles before Rushon burst through the tired Mustang's defensive line and into the end zone to make it 37-0 with 1:09 left on the clock.

Saturday marked the first time Western has been shut out since 1973 and the first time Queen's had blanked the Mustangs since 1966.
