The overall number of Ottawa tech workers dropped by four per cent in 2008 for the first such decline in five years, CTV News has learned.
About 3,000 jobs were lost last year, even though the number of tech companies rose slightly.
The Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation performed a telephone survey to ask local firms if they hired or fired in 2008. Half of the companies employ fewer than 10 workers.
