Jean-Gabriel Pageau's goal with 44 seconds left in the second period was the eventual game winner as the Gatineau Olympiques beat The Val d'Or Foreurs 5-3 Wednesday.

The Olympiques (17-16-2-3) got on the board first with Alex MacDonald's third goal of the year 4:19 into the game, but Guillaume Gélinas tied it for the Foreurs (16-20-0-4) about six-and-a-half minutes later.

The two teams traded goals in the second before Pageau's marker put Gatineau ahead for good, with winger Kyle Morrison adding the insurance in the third.

This was Pageau's third game back after breaking his finger in November.

Francois Lacerte stopped 26 shots for Gatineau and Francois Tremblay turned aside 31.
