Hewitt discussed the moment they realized they had won the jackpot.
“I received the life-changing email and was in shock! I had to go down to a retail location to verify all the zeros I was seeing! Could this be real?” Hewitt said as the couple picked up their prize in Toronto.
The couple plans to travel the world and make sure their family and loved ones "are well taken care of."
Trenton man wins $1 million
A Trenton, Ont. man became a new millionaire after winning the "Ontario Jackpot" of $1,032,525 in the April 13 Lottario draw.
Timothy Annett, who works as a material handler, says he typically picks up a Lottario ticket when the jackpot is high.
"I considered picking up a Lottario ticket while at the store but decided against it because I noticed the jackpot had recently been won,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
"I went back out to my car and noticed I already had a Lottario ticket in my centre console. I scanned the ticket on the OLG app, and I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that it was my ticket that had won the jackpot! I walked back into the store in a daze. It was a wonderfully chaotic experience."
Annett says he plans to purchase a house and travel. The winning ticket was purchased at The Round Hill Gas Station on Highway 33 in Trenton.
