Male pedestrian killed at intersection in Aylmer

Police are investigating after a male pedestrian was killed after being struck by an SUV at an intersection in Aylmer Tuesday morning.

Police say witnesses watched the 53-year-old man get hit by the vehicle as he crossed the street at a red traffic light at Aylmer and Rivermead roads.

The man was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

A portion of Aylmer Road was closed Tuesday morning as police investigated.
