Players have been replaced with buckets on the ice of the J. Benson Cartage Centre as a leaky roof caused Friday's Ottawa 67's game to be pushed back.

A news release from the Ontario Hockey League said Ottawa's warm weather caused the leaky roof, which is causing unsafe ice conditions.

The 67's were set to play the Peterborough Petes at 7 p.m., but that game has been re-scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m.

"You have water leaking onto the ice in pockets so you have soft spots all over the ice," said Randy Burgess with the 67's. "It underlines the fact that the Civic Centre needs a new roof."

The 67's had already announced a move to Scotiabank Place for the next two seasons so the Civic Centre could be renovated along with the rest of Lansdowne Park.

Tickets for Friday's game can be used Saturday, exchanged for a future 67's home game or returned for a full refund at the box office.

Tickets can also be used for admission to the Carleton Ravens vs. University of Toronto Varsity Blues basketball games at Carleton's gym, which start at 6 p.m. Friday.
