The spending plans of OC Transpo and other city departments in Ottawa's draft $2.5 billion budget were examined by taxpayers in Kanata Monday night.

Recommendations on how to keep the property tax increase at five per cent were also discussed.

City staff proposals for increasing user fees for recreation and transit, as well as cutting some transit routes, are not popular with those living in Ottawa's west end suburbs.

City council's final vote on the issue is expected Dec. 5.
