The opening gala for the International Animation Festival attracted film buffs, art lovers and cartoon fans to Ottawa's Bytowne Theatre Wednesday night.
Animation creations showcased at the festival include short and full-length feature films, TV shows for kids, student films, commercials and music videos.
The competition screenings highlight the best new animation works selected from over 2,100 entries.
The festival runs until Sunday with showings at several venues across town.
