The Kingston Frontenacs mustered only 14 shots on goal in a 4-0 loss to the Brampton Battalion Friday night.

The worst team in the OHL's Eastern Conference gave up a goal to Brampton left-winger Mitchell Porowski just over 12 minutes into the game, with defenceman Zack Bell scoring about five and a half minutes later.

After Brampton's Dylan Blujus was called for tripping in the second, Patrik Machac broke loose to score a shorthanded goal to stretch the lead to 3-0.

It was his second shorthanded goal of the season and the third the Frontenacs have surrendered this year.

Brampton's final goal came from defenceman Jordan Auld on the powerplay, his first goal of the year and only the second of his OHL career.

Keegan Wilson stopped all 14 shots for his first OHL shutout, while Kingston's Igor Bobkov saved 30 of 34 shots.

Kingston falls to 1-9-1-1 on the season while Brampton moves up to 6-3-1-1.

The Frontenacs are still winless in October, losing their eighth straight game. Their only win of the year came against the Battalion on Sept. 29, a 5-3 win in Brampton.

Kingston has played only four home games this year, compared with eight on the road. They have four more road games (including Saturday night's match with the Barrie Colts) before they return to the K-Rock Centre Nov. 4.
