The NHL All-Star Game will be a great one for Ottawa Senators fans.
Players Jason Spezza, Daniel Alfredsson, Milan Michalek and Erik Karlsson all made the cut for the All-Star Game's starting line-up.
Karlsson is in the midst of a career year and led all players with 939,951 votes.
"To have four Sens in it this year, I just think it's unbelievable," said Sens fan Clarke Acelvari. "I just think it's going to be a blast."
The results came in Thursday morning after a week of campaigning in Ottawa to get the hometown stars on the team.
Mayor Jim Watson and CTV Ottawa community ambassador Max Keeping hosted an election rally at City Hall on Tuesday.
"For all that our Ottawa Senators do for our community, wouldn't it be great to have Daniel and his teammates in the starting line up at the 2012 All Star game in OTTAWA!" Watson wrote on his website.
While Ottawa rejoices at the lineup, some Toronto Maple Leaf fans are unhappy with the results.
"It's clearly not a real All-Star game," said hockey player Anthony Repaci. "The Senators should've just had an all-star game by themselves if they wanted to have all their players in it."
Not only are some of Ottawa's favourite players on the team, the capital will also host the All-Star weekend later this month.
"It's a great promotion," said Jantine Van Kregten of Ottawa Tourism. "It's a chance to fill our restaurants, our bars, our other attractions."
"It's a really great thing for Ottawa."
All-Star weekend will run from Jan. 26-29, starting with a procession of trophies down the Rideau Canal and choosing of the teams the first day.
There will be a nighttime skate on the canal Friday, Jan. 27, the skills competition on Jan. 28 and the All-Star Game itself at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.
A fan festival will run Thursday through Saturday at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
