Three people are facing several gun-related charges after a lengthy police investigation involving several police units.

The charges were laid after police executed a firearms search warrant and located a loaded 32-calibre long barrel handgun at a residence in Greely on Tuesday.

Leo Fashola, 28, Shane Brown, 27, and Marie-Eve Corriveau, 31, face several charges, including careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by a crime and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

Police say Fashola and Brown are facing additional charges for breaching probation and being prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Fashola and Corriveau appeared in show cause court Wednesday. Brown is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

All three of the accused are from Ottawa.
