After three years telling clients how to keep their weight down, Free Form Fitness has pumped up its publicity with recognition from an influential wellness magazine.
The latest edition of Inside Fitness recognizes the Kanata facility as the most unique gym in Canada.
"I was really excited, of course, because I understand how we're different," says Chelsea Boissennault, co-owner of the business along with husband Jean-Luc.
When clients weren't showing up as fast as the couple wanted three years back, they began offering an accountability model: fitness results that go along with nutrition and exercise.
Client Mike MacLean said the approach has worked for him. The 33-year-old was eating too much junk food and not working out consistently before joining the centre.
Now, with Free Form, he's lost 55 pounds.
"They always ask, 'How you doing? How's the nutrition going? How are the workouts going?' he says.
The business owners also tweet about their business and keep up with fans through a Facebook page, wanting to offer customer service in a variety of social media platforms.
