Fire officials are investigating a fire that broke out while nobody was home at a house behind the Ottawa Hospital's Civic campus Friday evening.
Ottawa Fire Services said they got a 911 call to 67 Reid Avenue around 7:20 p.m. Friday from someone who said nobody was answering the door, which was hot to the touch.
Fire crews said they had to force their way inside the two-storey home and open up walls and the main floor ceiling to get at the fire inside.
They said damage is estimated at $125,000 to the home and $50,000 to its contents. The fire was brought under control after about half an hour.
There were no injuries.
