Driver dies following two-vehicle crash in Manotick

A 48-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in Manotick.

Emergency crews responded to the collision at the intersection of Moodie Drive and Brophy Drive just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Ottawa fire says both cars ended up in the ditch, and one of the drivers had to be rescued from their vehicle by firefighters.

Ottawa police said Friday morning that a 48-year-old woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the collision died from her injuries in hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle did not suffer any physical injuries, according to police.

The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigations Unit would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of the incident. Witnesses can contact investigators at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345.
