A cyclist killed in a fatal crash on a New Brunswick highway has been identified as an American citizen who was working with an Ottawa-based youth group.
Andrew Wolf, 23, was riding his bike with a group of cyclists between St. John and Fredericton when he was struck from behind by a transport truck.
Wolf, who worked as a food educator at the Children's Aid Society in New York City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others were injured: one suffered a leg injury; the other was more shaken up than anything else.
The cycling group, primarily made up of youth from across Canada, was touring the Maritimes using theatre to spread awareness about the environment. Wolf was the only international participant.
The cyclists are part of the Ottawa-based Otesha Project, a youth-led charity group that offers month-long cycling tours.
The Highlands and Islands Tour through New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island began Sept. 7 and was scheduled to wrap up later this month.
