Five people were transported to hospital with serious injuries Saturday afternoon after a collision closed County Road 43 in North Glengarry between County Road 30 and Lake Shore Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 2 p.m. Saturday about an hour east of Ottawa near Alexandria.
Emergency crews from North Glengarry Fire Department and OPP Technical Traffic Investigators are on scene and expect the roadway to remain closed for several hours.
Police are asking the public to use alternate routes Saturday evening.
