The captain of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada came through down the stretch Friday night at home.

Xavier Ouellet got a third-period comeback started then scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Armada beat the Gatineau Olympiques 5-4.

The first QMJHL goal from Gatineau (17-16-3-3) defenceman Wes Herrett was the last one in the first period, which ended 2-2.

The Olympiques' Garrett Clarke (on the power play) and Alex MacDonald scored in the second to put their team up 4-2, but that's when the Blainville-Boisbriand (21-16-2-0) comeback began.

Ouellet got one past Francois Lacerte three and a half minutes into the third to bring the Armada to within one, then Marc-Olivier Roy scored with five minutes left in regulation to tie the game.

The winning goal came 1:58 into overtime, assisted by Olivier Picard and Dylan Anderson, his third of the game.

Lacerte stopped 33 shots in the loss and Etienne Marcoux earned the win for Blainville-Boisbriand, stopping seven shots after replacing starter William Racicot.

Clarke had the only power play goal for either team, as each had four chances.
