The victim of a fatal crash involving a Via Rail train near Kingston has been identified as a 12-year-old boy.
One person died and another was seriously injured when a vehicle and train collided at a railway crossing in Joyceville, just east of Kingston's city limits on Monday morning.
A family friend told the Kingston-Whig Standard that 12-year-old Gavin McIntosh died of his injuries. McIntosh's mother was also seriously injured in the crash.
None of the train passengers were injured. The crash remains under investigation.
