BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Brendan Gaunce had a two-goal night for the Belleville Bulls as they handed their division rivals, the Kingston Frontenacs, a 4-1 loss Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Joseph Cramarossa and Jordan Mayer added singles while Malcolm Subban made 32 stops in net for Belleville (30-29-1).
Trevor Morbeck was the lone scorer for the Frontenacs (19-36-6).
Gaunce's first goal of the game came just 48 seconds in when he was delivered a gift on a cross-ice feed for his 26th.
The second period saw most of the scoring, starting with Cramarossa making no mistake on a breakaway to extend the Bulls' lead to two.
Kingston got on the board with a power-play goal from Morbeck but Belleville answered back with a goal from Mayer and Gaunce's second before the period ended.
Morbeck's power-play goal was the only time Kingston scored on five man advantages. The Bulls failed to capitalize on both of their power-play chances.
Igor Bobkov made 30 saves in the loss for Kingston.
