A woman and her baby boy were found dead in their home in Gatineau Friday afternoon after a friend told police they were missing for two weeks.

Lt. Pierre Perras of the Gatineau Police confirmed that around 1:45 Friday afternoon, police were called to check on the woman at her home at 145 Mont-Bleu Boulevard. The call came from a friend who said that she had not heard from the woman in two weeks.

When police got into the house, they found the bodies of a woman in her 30s and a toddler. Police have still not confirmed the names of the two found.

Perras said there was no sign of violence in the home or on the mother or baby. Autopsies will be performed on Monday.

The house has a tenant living in the basement. However, police said the tenant has no access to the rest of the house and was not the person who called in the tip.

Police continue their investigation.
