BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Mika Partanen had two assists as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors beat the Belleville Bulls by a 3-2 score Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.
Jamie Wise, Riley Brace and Alex Cord scored for the Majors (20-18-6). Brandon Maxwell made 34 saves.
Joseph Cramarossa and Michael Curtis replied for Belleville (22-20-1), while Charlie Graham made 30 saves in the loss.
The Majors opened the scoring in the first period when Wise took a pass in behind the Belleville defence and sent a backhand over Graham.
Belleville tied the game when Cramarossa, a former Major, picked up a rebound and scored his ninth past Maxwell.
Brace restored Mississauga's lead before the first period ended when Graham misplayed a puck off the end boards that found its way in front of an empty net.
The two clubs swapped second-period goals, starting with Curtis tying the game on his 10th of the year. Mississauga grabbed their third lead of the game on a late power-play goal from Cord and never looked back.
With the win, Mississauga passed Belleville for seventh spot in the Eastern Conference.
