A construction worker suffered several rib injuries Saturday after he fell three storeys off scaffolding in Kanata.

Ottawa paramedics said they were called to Michael Cowpland Drive in west Ottawa around 12:45 p.m.

They said the 47-year-old worker's fall was broken several times by hitting planks and the scaffolding frame on the way down. He was wearing a helmet and didn't lose consciousness.

The worker was taken to hospital where he was listed in stable condition with serious but not life-threatening condition.

Ottawa police are investigating.
