Two police officers were injured in a confrontation with a man who appeared under the influence of drugs in Luskville Saturday morning.

Domenic Gallant of the MRC des Collines police said they were called to a disturbance on Tremblay Road in Luskville around 4 a.m., after a citizen reported someone was lying on the ground in the middle of the night and screaming incoherently.

When officer arrived, Gallant said the 28-year-old man didn’t cooperate, instead grabbing a metal brush and damaging four vehicles before finally being brought under control.

Two police officers were slightly injured during the struggle, as well as the suspect.

When he leaves hospital, Gallant said the man (who is known to police) will appear over the phone to face charges that include armed assault on a police officer.

Gatineau police were called in as backup during the incident.
