A man looking to meet a stranger who ran into a burning home with him to rescue those inside had his wish granted Tuesday.

Geoff Walker met a stranger in the middle of mayhem at a massive fire in Orléans at a row house complex on June 18.

Walker had done an interview with CTV following the blaze and was hailed publicly as a hero for entering a burning home and attempting to remove an unconscious man inside.

He pleaded for the other rescuer to come forward – a person he knew only as ‘the man in the green construction shirt’ so he could thank him.

The other rescuer, Owen Cole, saw that interview and reached out.

According to Cole, the pair was not alone in the rescue, but that they were with Cole’s co-worker Alex Deschamps the entire time.

Tuesday all three men met at the scene. It was a meeting that brought back powerful memories.

“It was crazy, it was scary at the same time you know, a lot of emotion in like five or 10 minutes,” said Cole.

All three men say it is an experience they will never forget.

“See what kind of a person you are, working together as a great team and at the end, no one got hurt, so we did exactly what we had to do and did a great job at it,” said Deschamps.

The men will be recognized publically for their bravery with an award at a Redblacks game in October.
