An Ottawa real estate agent accused of trying to kill his wife and daughter will remain behind bars.  Labib Khawas, 55, has been denied bail in an Ottawa courtroom.

A publication ban prevents the reporting of the reasons behind the Justice of the Peace decision.

Khawas was arrested May 3, 2014 after a 911 call to a luxury west-Ottawa home on Links Drive near the village of Ashton.   Khawas is accused of attacking his wife and eldest daughter in a vicious knife attack.

It’s been widely reported that Khawas’ daughter, an accomplished pianist, had her finger sliced off in the alleged attack.  His wife, an elementary school vice-principal, continues to recover from severe lacerations to the back of her neck and arms.

Labib Khawas will be back in court by video Friday June 13, 2014.
