There's no way to snap a losing streak like beating the best team in the league at home.

The Gatineau Olympiques (19-19-4-4) ended their three-game skid with a 4-2 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes (33-11-2-2) Saturday at the Centre Robert-Guertin.

Rock Regimbald's power play goal opened up the scoring for the Olympiques, the only goal for either team in the first period.

Gatineau then stretched their lead to 3-0 with goals from Kyle Morrison and Samuel Courtemanche in the second before Shawinigan's Dillon Donnelly scored his first of the season to break Francois Lacerte's shutout bid.

Alex MacDonald regained the three-goal lead seven minutes into the third period, meaning Cataractes captain and Canadian world junior player Michael Bournival's power play goal around the halfway point of the period wasn't setting up a dramatic finish.

However, it was a notable finish as four Cataractes and three Olympiques were ejected with 28 seconds left for fighting after Lacerte was run by Peter Sakaris.

Lacerate was named the game's first star after making 37 saves, while Alex Dubeau stopped 17 in the loss.

The loss snapped the seven-game winning streak of the Cataractes, ranked third in the country.
