Gatineau resident, Josselyn Boiron, was outside with his cat on Tuesday when the feline found something strange in the hedges.

Boiron says he knew instantly it was the molted skin of a large snake. He sent a picture of it to an expert who confirmed it came from a boa constrictor.

Gatineau Police were called to investigate. It’s been determined that the boa was never on the loose. The owner had thrown the skin into the trash and it somehow ended up in Boiron’s yard nearby.
