Ottawa police have laid impaired driving charges after a serious crash that left a young woman critically injured.

The crash happened early Sunday on Viseneau drive in Orléans. An 18 year old woman was in a driveway, parked when her car was hit by another. She became trapped when a light standard fell on her vehicle. She remains in hospital in critical condition.

According to Ottawa Police, 23 year old Tanner Paine is charged with:

  • One count of Driving while ability impaired causing bodily harm
  • One count of Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood
  • One count of Dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm
