For two decades thousands have been coming out for the Great Glebe Garage Sale looking to take over unwanted items.

The sale is held in the Glebe, bordered by Bronson Avenue, the Queensway and the Canal. This year’s event took place Saturday from 8a.m. to 3p.m. with hundreds of vendors lining streets and sidewalks.

Pamela Moss was there to shop around for her son’s new apartment.

“We’ve got a chair, we got paintings, we’ve got a glass coffee table, a trunk everything so it’s been incredible, the people have been so nice and it’s a wonderful way to reuse, recycle,” said Moss.

The price for all of these items - $200 dollars.

For two-year-old Eliza the prize item at the sale was her new princess bike.

“We asked them for the smallest size they had and now she had one,” said Eliza’s mom, Hafsa Kahn.

The sale also provides opportunities for groups like Helping with Furniture, who decorate and furnish homes for those in need, to sell items they are not able to donate.

“It’s very specific items we can’t donate so we sell them here to subsidize our operations,” said volunteer Nathalie Mione.
