The Moncton Wildcats scored in bunches to beat the host Gatineau Olympiques 6-2 Saturday night.

Moncton (13-9-0) scored three goals in just over seven minutes, two of them from Dmitri Jaskin, to take a 3-1 lead after the first period.

Gatineau’s (6-13-1) leading scorer Martin Reway scored 1:06 into the second period to narrow the gap, but the Wildcats’ Mark Tremaine and Ross Johnston scored four and a half minutes apart to pull away.

Moncton defenceman Brayden Wood’s first goal of the season was the final goal in the game.

Eric Brassard started the game for the Olympiques, but was pulled after allowing two goals on two shots. Cole Holowenko made 18 saves for the win.

The only power play goal of the game came from Moncton on one of their three opportunities, while Gatineau failed to convert on five chances.
