The City of Ottawa will be enforcing the fireworks by-law this Victoria Day Weekend.

The city does not recommend you attempt to light your own fireworks display. If you are planning to do so, the city wants to make sure you follow rules and regulations.

The Fireworkd By-law is outlined here.

Consumer fireworks may be discharged on the day of, as well as the day before or the day after Victoria Day. They must be discharged by someone 18 or older, and on private property, with permission of the property owner.

In Ottawa, firecrackers are prohibited from being used or sold.
