As of today, a city bylaw is in effect that prevents anyone from using water pipes and hookahs in enclosed public places in Ottawa.
City council voted earlier this year to ban hookah pipes from the same spots where tobacco is prohibited.
After an education campaign the city will issue fines for violations starting on April 3rd.
