The Capital Fair at Rideau Carleton Raceway is here for 10 days of summer fun.
Monster trucks, horse shows, and everyone’s favourite amusement rides are all part of the charm at Eastern Ontario’s biggest midway.
Formerly known as the Gloucester Fair, last year it changed names and was moved from spring to summer.
“We were four days in May and we got sick and tired of the lousy weather, the hockey playoffs, and the kids going into exams. We just had all kinds of miserable things to get away from, that’s all and now we are in 10 glorious days of summer,” said Harley Bloom, Capital Fair General Manager.
With extra days and good weather on their side, Bloom expects well over 100,000 people to attend the fair this year.
Some other event highlights include a barbecue competition, a Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, a Bird of Prey show, the Reptile Rainforest, the Travelin' Farmer and DooDoo and his Dance Party.
Tickets for the midway are available on site. All-day ride bracelets are available for $36.
The final Monster truck show runs Sunday, August 23rd, at 1pm. The fair runs until August 30th.
