The woman who died when a car slammed into a bus shelter at a plaza parking lot at 2525 Carling Ave. has been identified as 66-year-old Jacqueline Dyrkton of Ottawa.

Ottawa Police Const. Alain Boucher told CTV News the bus shelter collapsed when an 84-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle and reversed into the shelter.

Police say the four victims were either in the shelter or standing nearby when the incident occurred.

The three other victims - a 77-year-old man, an 89-year-old woman and a five-year-old boy - all sustained minor injuries and were released from hospital Wednesday.

The female driver was not injured in the fatal collision.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
