Hundreds streamed on bikes and on foot along Queen Street Tuesday morning in remembrance of a woman killed while cycling on that very street a week ago.

Danielle Naçu was a 33-year-old government worker. She was struck by a car and then run over by another passing vehicle while riding her bike.

Naçu's family says they are promoting safer cycling in her memory and led the vigil on Tuesday.

"My sister lived in this city, she helped the people of this city, and she died in this city," said Brent Naçu.

Naçu's brother says this tribute will be an annual event.

He says it is a way to monitor how much work has been done year to year to make roads safer for cyclists.
