Ottawa police say investigators have identified two suspects after a woman told police she was sexually and physically assaulted after accepting a ride home early Sunday morning.

The victim was waiting for a taxi in Gatineau when two men in a vehicle stopped and engaged her in a conversation, police said in a release on Thursday.

"She accepted a ride and once home, they made an excuse to come inside, where she was sexually and physically assaulted," police said.

On Friday, police say the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section have identified the two suspects, and the investigation continues.

No other information was released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944.
