Ottawa Senators centre Jason Spezza could be out with a knee injury for weeks, possibly months.

Spezza limped off the ice after hurting his right knee in the third period of a loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.

His knee apparently twisted, and he heard a pop. The team expects to know the full extent of his injury by Wednesday.

Jesse Winchester is now stepping in to play on a line with Daniel Alfredsson and Milan Michalek. Forward Josh Hennessy got the call from the minors.
