The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Ryan Shannon from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for minor league defenceman Lawrence Nycholat.
The 25-year old Shannon recorded career-highs in goals (5) and points (13) in 27 games with Vancouver last season.
Nycholat, 29, was originally acquired from Washington last season. The native of Calgary appeared in 77 games for Ottawa's AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senations in 2007-09.
