Ottawa police are investigating after receiving a report that an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger while sleeping on her couch in a downtown apartment.
Police say the woman was awoken by an unknown male who was touching her inappropriately at about 6 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the suspect was confronted before he fled the apartment, which is located in the 300 block of Chapel Street.
The man is described as an English-speaking, unshaven white male between 20 and 25 years old. He is about six feet tall, with a large build, round face, short black hair and glasses. He was wearing jeans and a light-coloured T-shirt at the time of the incident.
