Gatineau police will set up a command post at the scene of the city's first homicide on Tuesday, in hopes more people will come forward with tips about the murder.
Police still don't have any murder suspects after an 18-year-old CEGEP student was found dead in a wooded area behind her school last week.
Valerie Leblanc's body was found badly beaten and burned in the woods behind the CEGEP de l'Outaouais campus in Hull last Tuesday.
Autopsy results indicate she died from severe head trauma. Police also believe her body was tampered with afterwards.
A command post was set up near the murder scene over the weekend, and will be set up again on Tuesday to encourage anyone with information about Leblanc's death to come forward.
Police have launched a parallel investigation into the case in connection with indignity to a human body. Although police have four suspects, no charges have been laid.
Police said Monday the case is not linked to three unsolved attempted kidnappings reported in the city earlier this year.
Investigators are continuing to work around the clock on the murder case, and police say they will review any leads from information brought forward by the public.
Police ask anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. last Tuesday to come forward. Leblanc's funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information is asked to call a special hotline at 819-243-2346, ext. 6677.
