A Nov. 12 concert in Ottawa featuring Def Leppard is cancelled due to 'unforeseen personal matters' that shuttered the third leg of the band's tour, according to officials at Scotiabank Place.

"We know how truly blessed we are to have such committed fans," the band stated in a release.

"That's why we've agonized over this decision. Even if just a single concert, we don't take cancelling shows lightly, but unfortunately life's commitments need to be the priority."

The band did not elaborate further on its website.

Special guests Cheap Trick and Man Raze, who were scheduled to perform the same night in Ottawa, will also not appear.

The third leg of the band's Sparkle Lounge tour was set to begin Oct. 22. A number of Canadian venues were also affected, including Vancouver (Oct. 27), Regina (Oct. 29), Edmonton (Oct. 31), Calgary (Nov. 2), Winnipeg (Nov. 4), and Hamilton (Nov. 13).

Customers can obtain refunds at their point of purchase, while billets purchased online and on the phone will be refunded automatically.

Def Leppard was formed in 1977 and were a top rock seller in the 1980s. They performed 41 concerts this past summer, including one in Toronto.
