Ottawa 67's fans got a sneak peak at the team's renovated TD Place arena Tuesday evening at Lansdowne Park.
The 67’s rink counts improvements to the roof, concession stands, sound system, and a new giant screen among the upgrades.
“This is another major step, another milestone,” said Jeff Hunt, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group president. “It just feels fresher, more importantly it's our home and we're back.”
Fans who came to check out the 10,000-seat rink said they are pleased with the arena, and happy to have the team back home.
“It's really good to be back, it's really nice,” said long-time fan Chuck Dmer. “I think people are excited to be here, and it’s nice to see the screens there too.”
The 67’s have spent the past two seasons playing their Ottawa games at the Canadian Tire Centre.
They will play their home opener at the new TD Place arena on Friday against Niagara.
