VANCOUVER - Next year's holiday season in Ontario will have a decidedly Olympic theme.
The torch relay for the 2010 Games will spend three weeks in the province beginning in mid-December of 2009.
The nation's capital -- where much of the funding for the relay is coming from -- will play host to the flame for three days.
Altogether, 2,900 torch bearers will carry the Olympic flame through 226 communities in Ontario, stopping in 43 for celebrations.
Those include Kingston, Toronto, Six Nations of the Grand River and Point Pelee National Park, Canada's southernmost point.
Overall, the torch will visit 1,000 communities across the country in the 106 days leading up to the Games in Vancouver.
