The Gatineau Olympiques lost a close, high-scoring overtime match with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Saturday night by a score of 7-6.

In a game where neither team had more than a one-goal lead, 12 players had a multi-point game, led by Gatineau’s (4-7-1) Gabriel Bourret’s goal and three assists.

The Huskies’ (8-3-1) Maxime St-Cyr and Gatineau’s Yannick Dube each had two goals, with the overtime winner coming from left winger Gabriel Desjardins 1:34 into the extra period.

His winner came after a wild seven-goal third period that saw Rouyn-Noranda’s Justin Guenette tie the game with a shorthanded goal with 1:11 left in regulation.

Robin Gusse got the win for the Huksies, coming in relief of Alexandre Belanger.

Michael Nishi gave up seven goals on 48 shots for Gatineau.

The Huskies scored three power play goals on six opportunities, while Gatineau went 2-for-5 and added a penalty-shot goal from Emile Poirier in the second.
