Another segregated bike lane is going up in downtown Ottawa, with construction starting to affect traffic Tuesday.

The National Capital Commission said Monday construction on Wellington Street between Bay Street and the Portage Bridge intersection will run from Oct. 25 to Nov. 25.

The furthest right (curbside) lane will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, with the westbound High-Occupancy Vehicle lane moved to the inner lane.

There will be no construction during rush hours.

The NCC says construction on the bike lanes and pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of the Portage Bridge and Wellington Street is scheduled to wrap up July 2012.

There is another traffic disruption starting Monday in Ottawa's west end.

Construction on the Knoxdale sewer may affect southbound traffic on Woodroffe Avenue as drivers approach the Knoxdale Road and Medhurst Drive intersection.

The City of Ottawa said this construction should also last until the end of November.
