Ottawa police arrested a man, who was earlier described in his early 50s, in connection with a stabbing that took place a few blocks east of the Rideau Centre in the downtown core.
The incident took place around 7 p.m. on Friday, when two men drinking in an alleyway around Waller and Besserer streets reportedly got into a fight, at which point one was stabbed in the chest.
The injured man was taken to the hospital and treated.
Police put out a press release early in the day asking for the public's help in finding a suspect. By mid-afternoon, police said they had a man in custody.
