John McCrae Secondary School was temporarily placed in secure mode Friday due to a nearby police investigation.
Ottawa Police say the school was put into secure mode to do "ramifications" of a on-going police investigation nearby.
Police will not comment on the extent, nature or location of the "separate" police investigation.
Heavy police presence was reported in the Barrhaven area, with several streets closed off.
The school is now operating as normal. Secure mode has been lifted.
