The community is coming together to help a Gatineau couple following a devastating car crash that has doctors questioning if they'll ever recover.

Beverley Sunday performed with First Nations dancers at the 2010 Olympic opening ceremonies in Vancouver. Her husband Joe Sayer recently finished his studies and was working towards landing a good job. The couple was also involved in the Olympic torch relay.

A month ago, Sunday spoke to CTV Ottawa about a dance studio she planned to open soon.

"I've always taken challenges and used it to my best potential," she said at the time.

However, three weeks ago the couple's lives changed. A mid-February car crash put both of them in a coma. Doctors are unsure if they will ever recover.

Now, the family is facing new challenges. They have three children under the age of 12, and they don't have insurance.

The community has reached out to help by setting up a trust fund. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at any TD Canada Trust branch nationwide.
